Bajaj Auto Ltd. is an important Indian automobile manufacturer. Bajaj Auto is the second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and one of the largest in the world. It is also the earliest one in India to venture into automobile manufacturing. The company produces and exports scooters, motorcycles and the auto rickshaw. Bajaj Auto is based in Pune, Maharashtra, with plants in Akurdi and Chakan, Waluj and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand.

Bajaj Auto Limited was founded on November 29, 1945. At that time it was known as M/s Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited. The company initially sold imported two- and three-wheelers in India. In 1959, Bajaj Auto obtained license from the Government of India to manufacture two- and three-wheelers in the country. In 1960, Bajaj Auto became a public limited company.

Over the last few years, Bajaj Auto has smartly and successfully transformed its image from a scooter manufacturer to a two wheeler manufacturer. At present, the product range of Bajaj Auto includes Scooters, Scooterettes and Motorcycles. The last few years have seen company's real growth in numbers after it successfully introduced a number of new models in various segments of the fast growing bike market in India. In fact, Bajaj Auto smartly introduced new segments in the motorcycle market to take on its arch rival and market leader Hero Honda.

Bajaj Avenger
Bajaj Avenger is a cruiser bike from the stable of Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Avenger is modeled along the lines of Kawasaki Eliminator as it draws the styling and other design cues from Bajaj Eliminator which had an air-cooled, single cylinder Kawasaki engine.

About the Company
Royal Enfield was a brand of the Enfield Cycle Company, a British manufacturing firm. It started in India for the Indian Army 350cc bikes were imported in kits from the UK and assembled in Chennai. After a few years, the company started producing the 500cc Bullet. Thanks to its qualities, Bullet became popular in India.

Bullet became known for sheer power, matchless stability, and rugged looks. It looked tailor-made for Indian roads. Motorcyclists in the country dreamt to drive it. It was particularly a favorite of the Army and Police personnel.

In 1990, Royal Enfield ventured into collaboration with the Eicher Group, a leading automotive group in India, in 1990, and merged with it in 1994. Apart from bikes, Eicher Group is involved in the production and sales of Tractors, Commercial Vehicles, and Automotive Gears.

Royal Enfield made continuously incorporating new technology and systems in its bikes. In 1996, when the Government of India imposed stringent norms for emission, Royal Enfield was the first motorcycle manufacturer to comply. It was among the few companies in India to obtain the WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) for meeting the European Community norms. Today, Royal Enfield is considered the oldest motorcycle model in the world still in production and Bullet is the longest production run model.

Indian Motorsports fraternity has been hit by a pleasant surprise. FIA GT1 World Championship, a renowned, sports car racing series, has chosen the Buddha International Circuit to host the final round of 2012 GT1 World Championship.

Developed by SRO Group and regulated by Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile(FIA), the series started in 2010 and features grand tourer race cars which are based on the production models of many known cars. Global majors like Aston Martin, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati, Nissan and Chevrolet (General Motors) participate in this series with their amazingly tweaked cars and this year even Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are expected to join the league.

Each of the automobile majors spend millions of dollars on new projects every year and when they get the appraisal in the form of good sales, the hard work is well paid off. Mercedes-Benz is one greatly loved brand and is soon going to launch new products in the next two years. Of these products the Mercedes A Class and Mercedes B Class are the most waited ones.

You would be quite surprised to hear this but the upcoming B-Class hatchback is the world’s most aerodynamically efficient car, claims Mercedes. The car has never been a headline maker but this recent claim has impressed us lot. This obviously is no small thing and it is even said to be more aerodynamic than a Bullet.

At present we have a number of hybrid and electric vehiclesthat are way more efficient than conventional gasoline and diesel cars and one of the factors that actually boosts the efficiency of the car is its aerodynamics. A more aerodynamic car faces less air drag which means it faces lesser air resistance and faces lower losses of power due to aerodynamic imperfections. This means the engine needs to struggle less to pull the car especially at higher speeds and this it translates into better fuel economy and more fuel savings.

At the top secret MIRA automotive research facility the car was tested in the wind tunnel and fluorescent paint was sprayed on it in the presence of high intensity UV light. It was found that the slippery surface of the car was extremely efficient and can save $5000 in fuel billings over 100,000 miles, as compared to its previous generation version.

Well that’s a great news from Mercedes and I hope that it makes its other models more efficient too.

2014 BMW X5 SUV Spied Under Full Camouflage– Will Look Like 2012 3-Series

As soon as a brand comes up with a new design language or even not so major bodily changes, it implements the same across all its model line-up. For instance we have the latest Fluidic design language being applied to all the Hyundai line-up. Similarly BMW came up with a distinctive styling cues recently and now the same is soon going to feature in the 2012 BMW 3-Series. Major changes for the 2014 BMW X5 include the redesigned front fascia with a new bonnet design, new sharper headlamps, redesigned bumpers, grille and much more. In fact the latest generation models from BMW are very much distinguishable with their respective predecessors.

Recently the 2014 BMW X5 SUV has been spied and not so surprisingly it features the same new design which is to come with the 3 Series.

Interestingly the car will be lighter than the ongoing model and therefore will offer better fuel efficiency. Performance wise one will not be disappointed as it will feature some superbly built engines that will not only offer efficiency but power as well.

Coming to the appearance of the car, it will resemble the F30 (2012 3-Series) from the front and will have sleeker looking headlamps that will flow into the new kidney grill. Other interesting features which, derived from BMW 5 Series, and to come with the car include Black Panel display, Heads-Up Display, Night Vision, new iDrive system and adaptive suspension. It is also expected that soon after its launch the company will come up with a 7 seater variant of the same.
